Interesting and very rare with white piping. I like it.

If I were to have a 2nd 68 I think I would go with white. The more I see them the more i like it.
But I wouldn't want blk or blue intr. Every white 68 seems to have those combos.

yeah - the white one we have is growing on me too - other than black, the only solid color i can live with, and doesn't look like it came from mattel

not sure i like the white piping, but contrasting piping can look great (like the silver/red combination that porsche did)

You're right that it seems they all are blue or black. The Grand Prix White/Marine Blue combo was popular not only on the 968 but the same era 911 (964) and 928 are also popular in this combo. I think the only other two choices were gray or chestnut with the white exterior unless you special ordered something. Jeff's got actual numbers...I've never seen a marine blue interior with piping like this...not sure how it moves me.

Rhude, even though it's not unique in any way, I really like my white over dark (marine) blue as opposed to white over regular 'ol black.

I agree, I like my white over marine blue better than black. Just a bit different but still quite dark. If it were a shade or two lighter, it'd probably look pretty dated.

after living with a blue interior on a couple of cars now, i'm not a big fan of blue interiors, as they tend to show wear and look dirty quickly, but i agree that it has a more appealing look than a black interior on a white cab, even though i love the look of black interiors - different story though on a hardtop

i do like the classic grey in our white cab, especially since the top is also grey, but i am fearful of the day i will have to rework the panels that are doomed to turn brown, as all classic grey does

I am always amazed at how good the cars in the US adds look. Is this just good photography or are the cars on your side of the pond really in such great shape?

cab on ebay - rare white piping - flash - 10-14-2009

depends on where they are - the west coast cars usually look better than the east coast cars, due to the lack of salt on the roads, and a LOT less exposure to winter weather conditions - the engine bays are the real telling area - i look at the aluminum for pitting and discoloring - on the west coast they are usually clean and shiny - people on the east coast don't tend to take the precautions that would prevent the problems resulting from the aforementioned issues

i think this is the root of why the european cars tend to look more worn - they are exposed to the conditions like the east coast cars are, namely weather

also, these cars tend to be more toys than daily drivers, and the driving attitudes in europe are very different - here most people own at least 2 cars, and garage them more often than not - often cars see very few miles, as in the case of a "toy" - this would tend to keep a car in better shape longer

Midnight blue is the exterior color with the most varieties of interior/top colors but white is #2. Not considering the top colors, just interiors:

100 Dark blue
68 Black
59 Midnight blue
53 Cashmere/black
32 Classic gray

And the oddballs:
8 Light gray/black
6 Light gray/classic gray
5 Cobalt blue
5 Magenta
5 Chesnut brown
4 Marble gray/black
2 Marble gray/midnight blue
1 Light gray/cobalt
1 Flamenco Red/Black

FTR- I like both black and Blue in white cars, and I'm a bit more partial to blue.

Personally I would like something a bit more unique should I endeavor to get a white cab. Anyone got a pic of a wht on Chestnut cab or coupe?

cab on ebay - rare white piping - flash - 10-14-2009

jeff- you're not breaking out the cashmere from the cashmere/black?

Mark in Damascus has a cabriolet...white over chestnut. I think he's posted a pic or two before...hopefully he'll chime in.

It is one in the same, I just forgot to put the /Black but there is only one flavor of cashmere on the 968 and that is cashmere/black. Sorry. Remember Bob, your car is still cashmere/black interior code LC, you just have the optional black deviated carpets but you still have the same interior code as a car without the carpet option.
