Ever wondered how much faster a 968 powered car could be with just 5lb of supercharged boost?
Heres an interesting comparison over a single lap of the same track, between my car in N/A form (top of the frame) and my car supercharged with 4.5lbs (max indicated) of boost (bottom of the frame).
Although this is not a road car, it's a good comparison because nothing else on the car had been changed at this point, same setup, same tires, similar fuel load and race conditions, no other mechanical changes except for bolt on of the supercharger (with a "5lb" pulley), and a tune.
Two seconds difference in lap times may not seem like much, but racers will appreciate it really is a lot on this very short 1.5 mile track!

Wow, that's very impressive. Thank for sharing. I was enrolled in a local driving academy (before the economy went south), and had gotten to the point on the very technical 0.7 mile section of track we beginners were restricted to where my lap times were no longer improving. So, the owner of the academy, a retired professional racer with 25 years experience, hopped in my car with me, and could barely beat my time (which of course had me walking on air). He told me that the limiting factor to my lap times was my car's lack of power coming out of the turns. This surprised me a little, because I had thought suspension set-up was usually the limiting factor, but my car is apparently pretty decently set up for a street car. So I guess I'm not surprised by the dramatic improvement in lap time you saw with the addition of less than 5 psi of boost. Thinking of things I can give up (food, shelter...) to be able to afford Flash's supercharger, and to be able to get back on the track...
