Building a 968 CS engine with Gt3Rs power - Dimma - 05-05-2010

Hi Guys,

After my introduction of August last year I've been doing my share of updates on the car resulting in this :

Yes, it is an original CS with M030 en M220 and it handles like a dream ; last week it had it's 4th circuit encounter and it ran flawless ... again ...

It's now on 18" Keskin KT2 rims with Toyo R888's, it has the TS naca ducts and the enlarged air-intake in the bumper ; white indicators and home made Carbon splitter and the sidemarkers are gone. I had the nose and the back end resprayed and now I'm happy with it ; more or less ....

Since the outside is Ok now, I started on the engine ; my aim is to get 911 GT3Rs specs from the engine only with some more torque then the modest 450 Nm the Gt3 delivers. So I bought myself a spare engine ( actually I bought 2 engines ), broke it ( 1 ) down to the last bit and am now in the process of getting parts and starting on rebuilding the engine. The cylinder head is rebuild and ready for the job, I've just send out the block to be Alusil-ed anew and ordered the Wössner pistons ( 8,5 : 1 ) and con rods. In a few weeks time I'll be installing the PnP Vems management ( on the current engine ) and when the Alusil job is done we should be good to start building the engine. It will take a while, I'm sure but the result should be worth waiting for ...

I'll keep you guys posted ...

Oh, today is liberation-day in Holland ; 65 years ago your ( grand ? )parents did my parents a big, big favour ... it's a little late, I admit but .... Thanks for that !

Regards, Frank

Dimma, I am following your progress closely. Eventually I want to turn my 968 into a TS replica as well, but for now I am just enjoying it.

We celebrated at work this afternoon with, you guessed it, Pannekoeken. Prepared by a wonderful Dutch gentleman who just started working for me. His tribute to Canadians.

Frank - Great looking car!
I will have to share those pictures with my son. Check out his 93 year old "Oma" in his car!

Without wanting to "de-rail" this post, my Dad immigrated to Canada after WWII because of the Canadian involvement with the liberation of Holland. He was supposed to have gone to Holland a few weeks back for the 65th anniversary of the liberation of the labour camp where he had been held (hid older brother never made it out alive!), but was unable to go because of the ash cloud over Europe!
Now he is now visiting me instead, and being exposed to my PORSCHE 968!
