Very nice. It is an early car and has the recessed hood badge but no edged rear emblem. #289 of the production run with nice options including LSD and a full power driver's seat. 14K is low mileage.

Rxter, now this would be a twin.

Reccessed badge, but not the sharp edged "968" ?

nice looking car

probably going to need about $6k dumped into it right off the bat though, to deal with the neglected and likely now worn due to dry starts variocam, dried up bushings, hoses, and hydraulics, and a complete belt change, which makes it pretty pricey after the high purchase price tag

but then you would have a pristine car in the end

if only i didn't have such a problem with the work associated with black...........

drool

It has the grey wheel and shift boot. Very nice. I really like that car, rims and all.

If I was looking, this would be the car. Absolutely beautiful! And (relatively) local.

Very nice car. Needs to be bought though around 17-18 then add another $6K and it would definately be a keeper. $24K plus $6.............$30K? Before any "go fast" stuff........ You better really love it.

No kidding huh Jeff? How does this one fare on the rare-o-meter with the black top?

I must say that I dig the piping on the seats. Speaking of which I have an official pronoucement on the seats. The older 944 seats look much cooler, but after spending nearly 4 days in the newer 94+ seats I vastly prefer those for comfort.

Might not be that bad Bob. Got mine up to good running condition for about 1/2 that - and did not need to replace the bushings - at least not yet. Belts and hydraulics absolutely.

Good photos in this ad. Almost as good as mine

Rxter, compared to your 1 of 2 combo (black, marble gray top, marble gray/black interior) this cab is quite common, 1 of 36 (black, black top, classic gray interior).

I pass by that dealer regularly. I am going to pop in to check it out this week....

Looks nice. Clean and well taken care of. If only it wasn't a cab.

rxter - perhaps somebody already did the castor blocks - you can be assured though that if they are original, they are toast - they may not look like it though, as the primary problem is the hardening of the rubber

did you do the variocam and head gasket? after seeing mine, this is now something i would do right away with any car i got, and especially on a car with that low mileage - i am scared to death of the white one for the same reason, and am just trying to figure out how to get it done

vacuum hoses are something i am now paying attention to as well - they aren't fitting as tightly as they should be at this point, and should be changed

bottom line, plan to spend the money, now or later, on any car, low mileage or not

but, after doing that, you would have a great example with this one for sure

Yeah you have me sweating over the head gasket now. I'm starting to drive like a responsible person. The cam is easier to check without spending a fortune. And I'll have the suspension checked out as well. Feels OK, but not perfect so I am sure that some of the rubber is past its sell by date...

Jeff I thought that color was called classic grey. No?

Another nice low mileage cab on eBay - flash - 06-09-2010

lol - that makes 2 of us - i did everything "right" and bought extremely low mileage cars at a premium, went through them completely, or so i thought, only to find that the head gasket is an age issue, and the lower variocam pad, invisible until you take it apart, is subject to severe wear if you don't put enough regular miles on the car

not fun

"Jeff I thought that color was called classic grey. No?"

Rxter, Yes sir, that is what i said in my post except I spelled gray with an "a".

Sorry I was commenting on the "marble gray" reference. I thought my car had classic gray not marble gray, or are they the same color on a different year car?

Another nice low mileage cab on eBay - jeff968 - 06-10-2010

"Sorry I was commenting on the "marble gray" reference. I thought my car had classic gray not marble gray, or are they the same color on a different year car?"

No, you have marble gray. Marble gray is the light gray color offered on the 94.5-95 968s similar to the light gray offered on the 92-94.5s. The 2 lighter grays (marble and light gray) are always paired with another color such as black or blue or magenta or classic gray. Your car has the code PJ partial leather in marble gray paired with black. Classic gray is also available as the full interior color with everything being classic gray like the car in the post.

Does that make since?

If not, i have photos to illustrate.
