I was in downtown Vancouver today in the 968 and just had to drop by Weissach to check out a 92 Cab they have for sale (on consignment).
It is Guards Red and has ~18,000 miles on the odometer (site has it posted in KM, but the odometer is in miles). The car is in immaculate condition. It is on their showroom floor and it looks "brand new". I was astounded to see that all the rubber gaskets and trim look like new. The original paint is impeccable. This car must never have been parked outside. The price is high but it reflects the condition this car is in.
I saw this car a number of weeks back on the local Saturday morning Porsche Breakfast Run. The owner told me that he had bought it from the original owner a few years back with ~11,000 miles on it.
As I drove away the smile on my face was larger than ever, given that I paid a third of what they are asking for this unit. My 968 has 100,000 more KM on the odometer (~83,000 miles), but looks much better than just a "third of the price"!

I think Weissach has a pricing problem. I bought my car from a guy who leased a used 968 from Weissach and judging from what the lease agreement was I would say that there may be a sucker born ever minute and they are wating for that guy. I paid 16K for my car and it's immaculate with every service stamp Porsche makes and every wear part replaced; that was with less than 1/2 the lease left. So I figure the lease was about 34K when he leased the car. Grant you it was 3.5 years newer at the time but still.....

Nice... If it sells at that price, that helps us all.

Very beautiful, $10,000 too high, but it doesn't hurt to ask.

I hope he gets that price and more, I hope the value of my house increases, and I hope unemployment goes down. Paint does look great though doesn't it?

i'm wondering if this is sbdrivingdotcom's old car?

I hope it sells for $50k. Think of the ripple effect... I might be able to refinance.

I was too but my car had 25,800 miles and had a black interior. Essentially the same car though.

It has immitation cup wheels and the centre caps are painted by a hobbyist. Makes me wonder what else is not quite right.

Nice car but interesting, it is not a Canadian spec car. Could be from the US or imported from somewhere else???

As far as I know (from talking to the owner at the local "Porsche Breakfast Run), he bought it in the States (somewhere back East). The car belonged to a woman whose husband had bought it for her. She drove it very seldom over the ~15 years she had it (yay - no kidding!). It probably sat stored in a good "climate controlled" garage, given the incredible shape all the rubber and plastic is on the car. I did notice that the rear "PORSCHE" letters have also been painted BLACK (very decent job). Might consider that myself, unless I can find "raised" lettering that will fit (similar to the ones I put on the engine valve cover). Here is a picture that I took of the car some months back, when we were at breakfast after a good "rip" up the "Sea-to-Sky Highway".

Did you notice if it was an early 92 with the recessed hood emblem?

I did not pay attention if it had the "recessed" hood emblem.

Might start a trend. I'm thinking that speed yellow would look good on my tail. I really need to get Photoshop. Anyone willing to mock that up?
