soon to be extinct parts ? -

I recall some posts a while back about the difficulty of finding certain parts anymore for our cars ; wire harnesses, o.e. DMF , and a few others .. what do you guys think is likely to become extinct in the not too distant future ? I'm considering buying a few of these things and just storing them for as long as it takes, even if they're very expensive ( DMF , main wire harness, all the sync gears, or similar..)

Porsche does have some sort of demand recognition in their parts systems. For example; The second gear syncro hubs weren't available last year but I had a standing back order on one. Eventually they had two available. I used both and now there are 6 available. Same with correct pressure plate now made by AP vs Sachs.
I don't think this will help with wiring harness though
