I was volunteering at a food and clothing distribution center in town.

I come outside 2 hours later and discovered a new pinstripe along the right side of the car. <img src="/forum/images/smilies/968/sad.gif" class="smilie" alt="" />

On the rear quarter panel, door, and front fender.

Good thing for full coverage!

keying is almost always personal - i would look around to who knows you were there and why they would do that

Lot's of folks out there that are just envious of a nice car. Sounds like it happened in an area of town that may have a bad element. Not always a personal thing, but it can sure feel that way when it's your car.

One of my best friends dad is a really good painter. I saw him today and he said his shop can handle it.

Just gotta talk to insurance.

I'm kidding. I've never had any conflicts with anyone at the distribution center. \

I've been volunteering since March and I never had any altercations with anyone. <img src="/forum/images/smilies/968/blink.gif" class="smilie" alt="" />



I will not let one person ruin it for everyone else. I will keep showing up to volunteer 3 times a week. (medication permiting)



One thing you realize very quickly volunteering is that people are very ungrateful. <img src="/forum/images/smilies/968/sad.gif" class="smilie" alt="" />

The distribution center is run by the church I go to and it was forced to shut down a section of the facility due to complaining about the "free" items people were receiving. We used to give away razors, toothbrushes, underwear, shampoo, diapers and other daily items new in box and for free. A couple people screwed it up for everyone.

Thankfully I am only called to help these people not love them. <img src="/forum/images/smilies/968/tongue.gif" class="smilie" alt="" />



If this does work out with the insurance I am going to pay a little extra to have the front bumper re-sprayed too. <img src="/forum/images/smilies/968/cool.gif" class="smilie" alt="" />

I know of a keying once that was a personal vendetta - the guy who did it bragged about it knowing the victim wouldn't do a thing, but I think this was an "I can't afford one so I'm gonna screw yours up" jealousy act. I once drove my new 77 Corvette to a public parking lot and returned to find it had been spit on in several places. Very unfortunate deal, but don't let it deter your desire to serve. When I do something like this, I drive my old Camry - no one gets jealous over it.



My daughter's SUV just got keyed (app 20 places) in my driveway right after her ex-husband lost it in their divorce. Hmmmmm, wonder how that could have happened???



Hope the repair goes well. Got one to do also.
