Let me just how important this is.

Reading many posts about suspension upgrades etc...it can be mind boggling. I recently posted my car sitting to low due to some hyper coils installed by PO, and my just did not sit right.

Well after getting a corner balance and an alignment by a Porsche mechanic who sets up many cars and races himself at Sebring, it was amaIng the difference it made. First he corner balanced the car with me in it, took 2 rounds to do it. Then the alignment. After it was all said and done, the rear of my car was actually up by about .5 inches, which actually resulted in less weight up front. The cries cross ratio was at 98lbs. When he started, ended up being around 40lbs., when completed, due to no more adjustments in the rear. The alignment was whacked. Showing -2degrees camber front, and -2-2.5 camber rear. He brought back into some of flashes specs with no issues, and the car sits much better and handles great.

A bad alignment really does not helpmthese cars at all. Do it!!

Mechanic is German Specialties in Tampa, and he knows his stuff. 2 other 968's were there, one race prepares and others like mine. The cost was 300 bucks for everything.

I learned quite a bit, and was surprised to know that raising ride height does not actually disrupt weight at corners as I expected.

I am a believer.

I've never had a car that was so difficult to make handle right. After many upgrades, my suspension is mostly complete, but the car still feels completely out of whack (due to less than stellar alignments). I'll be getting a corner balance and alignment soon. Can't wait to feel the results!

Sorry for the incorrect grammar in my previous post....New I-pad.

Back to topic at hand. It is essential to have this done correctly. If you have done suspension upgrades and the alignment has not been done for several years, it will make everything come together.

I was ready to ditch my front springs, and change a bunch of stuff, but i did not need to. These cars handle great stock, and have many settings depending on what you want. I should have better tire wear as a result. since I only autocross once a month, I did not want a really aggressive alignment but a good overall balance.

The right tech makes all the difference.

Good luck and let us know how it goes, I was pleasantly surprised.

I'll be getting the corner balance / alignment work done at West End, where Flash took his car. If Flash says they did his car right, that's good enough for me!

I didn't go too crazy with my suspension. Upgrades from stock are 951 M030 front springs and struts (just rebuilt), M030 swaybars front and rear with delrin bushings and Koni yellow rear shocks. I also have Flash's lower brace and a KLA strut brace.

I just put on a set of Michelin PS2's and noticed a huge improvement in handling and steering feel. Corner balance and proper alignment should be the final piece of the handling puzzle.

You have better upgrades than me.

I have 200lb hyper coils front springs, and Bilstein HD rear shocks, all else is in good shape and stock. 17" tires with fresh rubber.

i'm glad that all worked out. have fun.

Thanks again flash, it was a noticeable difference.

Research, research, ask questions, go with proven techniques.

I just added an extra set of 17" wheels with Yokohama AD08's, and they are impressive. I may just use these all the time, and ditch my Htrz's for street.

Where do you guys send out your struts for rebuild? Mine are factory, non Mo30, I want to firm them up and freshen them up a bit.

Corner balance and alignment - flash - 02-07-2012

i send the konis out to true choice. i have never heard of anybody rebuilding the OEM standard ones. not sure they can.

Just call Jason at Paragon, new Koni struts are too cheap to replace vs the price of a rebuild.
