Battery cutoff switch, optimal location? - kmckmc - 07-10-2013

I don't get to drive 968 often, and where it is parked has no electricity outlet.

So, I am planning to install a battery cutoff switch.

For those who already have the cutoff switch, does the AIRBAG light stays on after re-connecting the battery?

Thanks.

it should not

as for optimal location, be aware that when you disconnect the battery, the power locks will not work, and you will have to manually lock and unlock the door. check your locks carefully to ensure that they operate smoothly in that mode.

The light shouldn't come on when you disconnect then reconnect the battery cleanly. I've read that some people have trouble when they let the battery die in the car, then connect a charger to it while it's still connected to everything. Can you run a solar trickle charger?

yeah - i think i'd figure out a way to run one of those, even if it meant mounting it on the roof of a carport or garage or whatever, and then running the cable to the car.
