Purchased a rescue car and am heavily into restoration. Too many Micky mouse fixes done over the years by 3 previous owners that have all required proper fixes. It all started with a blown head gasket when brining her home. The culprit? Water pump failure ( impeller separated from drive shaft). Follow-up shows radiator was partially obstructed as well.

From examining the engine, the head was previously reworked but the cam tensioner pads were never changed. 141k on this baby. Engine is going thru complete overhaul. OEM parts are VERY expensive but I know what I am getting. All hardware is cleaned and back from fresh Gold Zinc anodizing.

While waiting on engine parts, I chose to start reworking interior and do a bit of customizing. Full leather seats, Alcantera dash cover and a touch panel stereo.

Complete drive train out to the tires is finally finished. Waiting on sill plates and brace from Flash.

That is an incredible transformation. Having gone through that process on different occasions with a couple of different cars I can appreciate the work it entails. One question, where in the world do you send your hardware to have it re gold anodized? I've searched high and low for that type of service with no luck.

Triple black cars are beautiful and menacing at the same time.... like a freckly redhead!

How did you modify the console brace for the lower DIN slot? +1 on classic 9 kits. Nice stuff.

basically you remove the center horizontal piece, and nip the rear corners at the bottom of the remaining piece. i think i posted pics here in "stereos, navs, and gadgets"

Flash hit it on the head. I drilled out the spot welds so I could restore if desired. I found a plating shop here in Marietta, Ga that does Gold Zinc Annodize. Min charge is $50. He did all my parts for 75 but I had to clean them and free them of grease, corrosion etc. Shops name is Titan Metals

Vehicle Restoration - hot968 - 06-27-2014

hello, I just want to be sure I have the right this shop Titan Metals, is able to restore the gold color, on many small parts of out motors? I wish I could post a picture of what I mean. In post #17 it is like the bottom piece shown in picture? Thanks
