Hi everyone! Im Mehi from Romania, I dont own a 968 yet, but im interested in acquiring one and wanted to know whats good and what not. Which 968s are desirable and what to stay away from. Luckily Ive stumbled across this forum and was hoping I could read more about them because where I live theres not much info 968 related. Also parts wise theres a few curiosities, regarding availability, or restoring used ones.
Looking forward to finding out more about the 968!

For the most part, they’re all the same. Your choices are coupe or cab, 6 speed or tiptronic transmission.
There are also a few options that are desirable, but certainly not deal breaker. 6 vs 8 way adjustable seats, partial or full leather, 030 Sport suspension vs Standard. 16” base wheels vs optional Cup I (92-93) or Cup II (93<) And I think most here would agree that the rarer colors are more desirable. (Not red, black, or blue)

Welcome! In my opinion, the only relevant differences are in condition. Spend the money up front to get one in good condition, or you’ll be spending it, or more, on the back end.

Welcome ! ( I was also born in Bucharest but left there in 1970, when I was just over 14 years old ). Anyway, there’s excellent information on this forum which will enable you to make a very informed decision about the car you ultimately choose. No longer available parts are a concern, but with enough search here you’ll identify if they’re critical or not, as well as what may be available as replacements from aftermarket sources or even from different makes and models ..
I agree with Bill’s ( ibpesq ) recommendation in the above post.
Just don’t forget what may be the most critical maintenance item on the car : the timing belt ! Plenty of threads and posts here with cautionary advice on that .
Good luck with the search , these cars are phenomenal .

Hi and welcome
As your in Europe be careful about getting sucked in by the Clubsport Hype, they are just coupes under the skin, and have far less comfort, and cost twice as much

Best wishes for your search. 968s are very hard to find in any condition, probably harder in Romania. So, consider any 968 that you find, even if it has a Tiptronic transmission (automatic transmission) or other feature you dislike.
As others have said, get one in the best condition you can find. So, much more important than other features.
