I have enkei nto 3+m wheels. My front ones have a black residue which I am unable to get off. I have tried griots heavy duty wheel polish, griots wheel cleaner, adams all purpose cleaner, goo be gone, bug@tar remover, acetone, lacquer thinner, MEK, and have heated it with a heat gun. The only thing that works is scraping it off carefully with a screw driver. This of course leaves scratches and damages the wheel. Anyone have any suggestions?

that's one of the reasons why i don't like those wheels. i'm way too lazy to clean them.
P21 is the best wheel cleaner i have seen.

Use a high pressure " power washer " ( if you don't want to buy one they can be rented ) - heavy detergent grease and rust remover mix solution on the first wash, milder detergent solution on the second wash, and rinse solution on the third round . Clean using P21, the stuff is really good. The above method worked wonders on my friends' Jaguar on wheels as the ones pictured below that had a ton of grime on them. If it cleaned those, it can clean any Enkeis you can throw at it IMO..

Flash I seem to remember a certain Denali that has great looking wheels which are a PIA to clean. I've ordered P21s and await its arrival. Should have started this earlier but!

1) Call Darryl immediately, do not scratch your wheels (Probably too late)
2) I don't usually believe in Magic Goo, but I have begun using Armorall wheel protector after a thorough cleaning and it helps keep the build up down.

yeah - those wheels were a pain. i couldn't use the P21 on them though, because they were painted. i paid somebody to clean them.

no clue. that car always went to the car wash. i don't think i ever washed it more than once or twice myself, and i didn't clean the wheels when i did.

Isn't P21 supposed to be safe on painted wheels? Is there a P21 versus P21S? Google shows only P21S which is safe for painted wheels.

S is correct. i have had it mess up paint, whether it is supposed to be safe or not. i know people who swear by it on their painted wheels though, so who knows?

Thanks, that's good to know it may harm some paints. Will test on a small section first.

Cleaning wheels -
ds968 - 03-18-2015
Nah, I have people for that .. :-) But I still don't know what that solution is on the wheels in Waylander's photos ; some kind of berry jam or sauce ?
