Hey - did you see that our 968 made Autoweek? The March 7 2016 issue focuses on DIYs and has a section "Your New/Old Chariot Awaits", talking about picking your next easy-to-own classic car. The 968 was identified for the 1990s decade. Unfortunately the picture shows a Coupe!

'Unfortunately'? What do you mean by that? ;-)

It's supposedly going to be in the 70 degree plus (Fahrenheit) range in Williamsburg this week - convertible top down weather!

Never understood the cab love affair!

968 in March 7 2016 Autoweek - ds968 - 03-07-2016

Hey, just as there are " chubby-chasers ",  there are those in love with cabs...

968 in March 7 2016 Autoweek - az968 - 03-07-2016

Maybe the solution is to have one of each, like Dan, that way you can please everyone Big Grin

Me, I don't try to please anyone but my wife, who prefers coupes.....

968 in March 7 2016 Autoweek - ds968 - 03-07-2016

I have two coupes , no cabs here.. I'm going to look for that Autoweek issue at a couple of magazine stands tomorrow .

Sorry, I must have mistaken you for Flash.

968 in March 7 2016 Autoweek - ds968 - 03-08-2016

Oh great, now you have to add insult to injury ?! :-) :-) :-)

JK - flash is a good friend, so we take liberties teasing those about whom we care, right ? Lol.

The cool thing about cabs is that you can let the wind "blow through your hair" so to speak. The windscreens work great on these cars, giving them a quasi targa effect, and if it's cool out, there is always a roof to put up. Just saying! :-)

968 in March 7 2016 Autoweek - MCL968 - 03-08-2016

Yep, just a matter of taste. I wanted my fun car to be something different. I agree that the coupe's are more rigid and there is none of that peculiar cowl shake to deal with, but the 968 is my fun car, and (for me) a cab is just more fun.

Although when stuck in traffic, I would sometimes prefer a tiptronic coupe to the 6sp cab.

Does everyone here who owns a cab have hair?

968 in March 7 2016 Autoweek - Ernie - 03-08-2016

LMAO Rap, I almost included (for those of us that have hair) but deemed it to be potentially hurtful, to the follicly challenged.

968 in March 7 2016 Autoweek - ds968 - 03-08-2016

Ugh, I just visualized Trump in a convertible ...

968 in March 7 2016 Autoweek - lbpesq - 03-08-2016

I have a cab.

I have hair (it's changed color over the years, but it's still there!)

I have a wife.

Cab + wife = top up.

'Nuff said.

968 in March 7 2016 Autoweek - BeBe - 03-08-2016

I have a cab.

I have hair that would have changed color, but I pay someone to make it stay the same color. Smile

I have a wife.

For some reason, my wife thinks it's pointless to ride in the car unless the top is down.  Then again, she's not driving.  If you're just riding, there are quieter more comfortable options.  I like to drive the car, so it doesn't matter whether the top is up or down.

I probably shouldn't admit this but my hair is about 2.5 feet long. Smile

968 in March 7 2016 Autoweek - Bulti - 03-08-2016

Does it get stuck in the wheels of the wheel chair or are you one of the members who is less than 85?

Was that over the top? :-))

Got to own one... (and mine's a Tip as well... say what you will that limited slip diff is awesome!)  B)

968 in March 7 2016 Autoweek - 94SilverCab - 03-08-2016

I have hair, but not the same color it was when I bought the car 16 years ago...

Wind deflector went a long way towards silencing the "squeak in the passenger seat".

The top never, never goes up when I'm driving unless I get caught in a down pour (has happened twice).

There is no temperature cold enough to warrant the top up.

JMHO,

Jay
