the look is right - unfortunately people who have tried it end up replacing it with the polurethane one because the fiberglass shatters on impact with driveways and such - the front end of the car hangs out a long way and the angle is not good for things like this - it gets even worse if you lower your car - you can also easily damage other things like the grill (don't ask how i know this-grrrrrrrrr) as a result of the inability of the splitter to flex on impct - that force has to go somewhere
if you were really careful, and don't lower your car, you may get away with it - so far though, we have heard nothing but complaints

I have had the FG splitter before on a lowered 968. If the car is lowered the Splitter will buckle at the corners eventually. If you are going to keep the car for a bit, I say make the initial investment and buy the PU splitter from Gert at Carnewal.com you are in Europe so the cost of the splitter and splitter will be cheaper for you, so take advantage. In the long run the PU splitter will be your best bet. It can take scraping on driveways whereas the Fg won't. It sucks to pay for a product, paint it, install it only to worry about it cracking every time you come up a steep driveway. The PU splitter also has a lip that curves down so if you do scrape it the scraped area is hardly noticible.

i nailed my pu splitter the first day in a place i thought was safe - glad it flexed and i had touch up paint - fiberglass would have left me with a broken piece and likely a bashed grille - been there done that - got the t-shirt - not going back

How about carbon fibre? How will it hold up on impact, because thats the one i plan on getting.

Carbon fiber will not be forgiving either. Poly-U is like a hard rubber so it gives a great amount of flexibility then returns to it's original form. Carbon fiber is stiff like FG and will end up cracking at the same points. If you are looking at the GT or AIR CF splitter I believe they use a CF overlay, over FG.

sorry to go a little off topic but that yellow cars passenger fender/light looks mest up doesnt it? Oh and on the topic of Fiberglass splitters..i have the AIR front splitter and it just cracked after over two years...of course my car was not lowered...but i slammed it so many time and it never shattered.
I would say to go for the poly if you can anyway though

It's been replaced by a 993 light: some people prefer the less-than-ideal fit to the stock amber lens.

If you scroll down the page there is another speed yellow club sport with the amber indicators and yellow wheels - looks much better if you ask me!

I was talking about the headlight..i too have the 993 clear lenses and i dont mind the fit

It looks to me like its the fender, the left one is different than the right one. The left one looks bigger therefore the light appears to be sitting lower.

I think the front bumper has taken a knock and the headlamps are out of adjustment to give an overall impression of "not rightness"! - i've noticed the headlights on several 968s

The car
has taken a light knock, and much of the thread is actually about how unhappy the owner is with the repair. It's in Swedish, though... On page 3 there's a picture of his bent radiator attachment, along with some more pictures of his new splitter.

back to the splitter - glad mine was PU today - would have shattered for sure - nice biff - as it is, i now get to repaint it - hadn't even made it to wax yet either - oh well

I'll second that. The first day I had mine on I heard the sickening grinding of plastic scraping cement. Luckily, not anything that needs attention, just some slight scraping on the bottom lip. Thank goodness for PU.
And Flash, thanks again for hooking me up, I love it. Now that it's on, I'm really sold on the look of the spoilers front and rear. The search is on.

Yeah, I've got a line into TechARt-USA but haven't heard back. The last time I talked to them, they were a bit iffy on 968 stuff. Mostly have 996/993 here in the states.
I was also waiting hear from a poster re: sourcing in from a PCNA dealer.
