Turbo S front spoiler and splitter - stevev968 - 03-30-2005

Hi guys,

I'm looking for a place that produces the Turbo S type front spoiler, ie. the one with the larger opening between the driving lights. I'm also looking for a polycarbonate splitter.

I'm located in Los Angeles.

Whilst I'm here, I'd be interested in discussing with someone who has performed a 968 turbo conversion where the intercooler has a major cutout in the hood between the NACA ducts (ie. hood pins are used).

Regards,

Steve

Fitzgerald Racing Services makes fiberglass reproductions of all those.

So where do you get Polycarbonate spliters in the US?

Polyurethane actually. They are not available from anywhere in the US. Carnewall In Belgium can get them. They are not on the website. You have to call them and ask for Gert.

Flash, What was the per / each cost of the PE splitters?

Silver BLT

Turbo S front spoiler and splitter - flash - 04-06-2005

350 Euro plus 50 Euro shipping - exchange rate varies, so no telling there

How is color applied to those? Curious. You could paint them, but I imagine that would crack incredibly easily unless the PE is incredibly hard.

The splitters should be painted with an elastomeric additive in the paint. It makes the paint somewhat rubbery and it will flex with pretty severe bending.

After thinking about it, I figured there was something like that out there. Thanks!

i have to repaint mine AGAIN - this time i'm going to have them put in 4 times the normal amount

then, while it's off, i'm finally going to make one that doesn't stick out so danged far forward

Turbo S front spoiler and splitter - TheMirror - 04-05-2006

What color do they come in unpainted? Is it black?

Grey primer

Turbo S front spoiler and splitter - EEZATOY - 04-06-2006

Mirror,

I had mine painted at Walt Stickel (Franklin Blvd) - it costs about $120 and they matched the color perfectly - I have had no problems with the paint cracking - the front edge is getting scuffed up a bit (driveways/parking lots, etc) - but the paint on top is fine. If it were about an inch less wide that would probably reduce scuffing by 70-90% - so if Flash comes up with PU one like that then even I would be looking into a new one...hint hint <img src="/forum/images/smilies/968/cool.gif" class="smilie" alt="" />

lol- i get the hint

since i have bent mine under now 3 times, i am pretty much over the whole thing, so i am defintely looking to create something new that doesn't do that

Steve,

The Fitzgerald stuff is good but takes some work to fit. There is a three piece setup you need for hood intercooler duct. There is an rectangular piece that connect to the front bumper large opening . There is a U shaped channel that connects that opening to intercooler. (Fit is bad). Finally there is the hood (bonnet) exit that has to fit properly to let hood fit properly and exit heat.

I can send you pictures if you like.
