Found a great glue to repair the Cab top window - 968 Cab - 09-17-2005

I know this was covered in another post http://www.968forums.com/index.php?showtopic=890

My 968 Cab had that dreaded 1" long split right along the edge of the canvass top, and nothing seemed to work to fill that gap as it flexed so much and was always under tension.

But I could not find the adhesives noted in the post; I did find a very good glue at Home Depot however - cheap too @ under $3! The small tube of ELMERS brand opague/clear Hi-Tech Adhesive FIX-ALL

Comes in a small 18ml tube blister pack. I used a clear tape patch on the outside and applied the glue from the inside. Let it completely dry overnight, then removed the clear tape patch and applied a thin coat on the outside of the top.

It's been on for 2 months now, and the top has been used a lot - no cracking, still nice and rubbery, and sticks like nothing else - much better than silicone glue.

This stuff has been really useful for gluing all sorts of stuff on the car - like the rubber trim on the side skirts, front and rear bumper caps, etc. Best thing is it sticks to almost anything.
