Tweaked my DME Relay - Beachboy - 10-18-2005

Went to go for a spin and nothing but a spinning motor no fire, no sputter, just rruh-rruh-rruh-rruh. So I thought about all those posts I've read about DME relays. Searched for a thread and got the info, found the relay and pulled it out. Too late to go get a new one so I cleaned the pins off and gave it a rap on each side for good measure. Popped it back in. Rruh-rruh-vrooom! 10 minutes total.

Couldna done it without you guys, thanks!

And yes, it was the old 944- relay and I am going to order a new 993- relay for good measure.

My failing one would rattle about inside. Get TWO new ones. One for the car, one for the glovebox (saves on shipping too). <img src="/forum/images/smilies/968/wink.gif" class="smilie" alt="" />

I guess the real question here is: was it the relay or the pin contacts?

For the small price and the large piece of mind - don't even think more about what it was, just replace it.
