Can someone tell me if the brake duct and control arm "deflector" in this image are specific to M030 cars or particular to any/all years? I have seen 968's without the control arm deflector.
TIA

I believe they are standard issue. My 93 non-M030 coupe had them.

if you are talking about that large scoop right behind the backing plate, it has been on all cars i have seen, regardless of M030
brian, i think you're missing a piece

The part I was refering to was the air deflector mounted on the control arm, see pic. I did confirm via PET that these parts are standard issue. With that said, I've sure seen a lot of these cars without the air deflector but with the backing plate ducts.

The only thing I can think of is that the car's deflector was torn off. I know alot of 944 guys try to get them mounted on their cars.

yeah - those have been on every car i've seen so far too

Another possible explanation is a 944 rebuilt control arm being fitted. Only the 968 arms have the mounting point for the deflector, even though anywhere you look the rebuilt arms always say they fit either model.

definitely have that one!
when i put the car up on blocks, it gets in the way.

Yup, standard issue. This two-piece plastic system is actually pretty effective. Far more effective than the metal wings on the struts on the Turbos.
They hang low but do seem to take quite a beating.

Good info, thank you all. Like Dave says, these are very effective. In fact the 996 RSR's and the GT's all use a similar setup.
