Is anybody considering attending Porsche Parade in August 2006? It's going to be on the north side of Portland, Oregon. Signups open in March, but I'm just trying to plan my way-too-limited vacation time. Work sure does get in the way of living!
I think it's San Diego in 2007.

Make sure you send your application in on the first day of registration. The registration often sells out in the first days and the applications are processed based on the date they are mailed or completed online. If you mail your application early your are disqualified.
We registered for the 2004 and 2005 parades. 2004 was a great time. Due to the lack of hotels in Hershey we decided to back out on 2005.

I think they are moving to on-line registration this year. Watch the PCA.org website. A recent edition of Pano indicated that registration was in March (normally Jan/Feb) because of the on-line signup and other factors.
PCA also realized the problems with a limited number of openings. They "intend" to make this and future Parades available to as many people who are willing to pay the fees, but there may be some events or situations that limit size. We'll have to see how they handle it this year.

i have spoken with the PCA people handling the event - there will not be the shortcomings of the hershey event when it comes to registration and hotels and such - the organizers went out there specifically to see how they ran the hershey event, and to head off such poor planning for the portland event
the venue has been the problem, purely as a result of member apathy - most regions have not stepped up to host the event, leaving the hershey chapter as the only one to offer - consult your region - push their buttons - get them moving - then it can be held in more areas
after portland is san diego
i will be at both

So ... now that we are getting closer to the Parade - How many 968 Forum folks are planning to attend? I will be there - staying at the Marriott - doing the Tours & Rally and for sure the special 968 Tech session. So how about the rest of you ??? <img src="/forum/images/smilies/968/rolleyes.gif" class="smilie" alt="" />

while registration closed, contrary to all their promises that this would not happen(someday those guys are going to figure out they need an arena sized venue), you can still attend - it is open to the public - they fail to make this readily known

i imagine you can get in to some stuff, but many of the events are full, and actually have waiting lists - go to the website, give them a call - see what you can work out
at any rate, we should all definitely hook up
