Wow, what a job! - Lemming - 04-28-2006

Well my car has been on the lift for the last few weeks but with my job and getting married I've not been able to find time to get to her. Last night I managed to get the front engine job finished (belts, rollers, seals, etc) and decided to tackle the motor mounts tonight. I've not done this job before and it's not easy to do by yourself. Luckily Clarks garage had a great writeup and after 3 hours, a few beers, bloody hands and head (I need an aluminum skullcap when working under there), and lots of prying the job is finished. It's no wonder the car was shaking so much, the passenger side mount was broken. I should have time to put the last bits back on Saturday and then take her for a drive <img src="/forum/images/smilies/968/biggrin.gif" class="smilie" alt="" />

The work was for the DD, not the track car. The DD is bone stock except for the airbox mod <img src="/forum/images/smilies/968/huh.gif" class="smilie" alt="" />

Ok, I must have missed a thread somewhere - what wre you doing to the track car to make it even faster ?

968 or fiancee, hmm, both are fun, yet, both require a good bit of time and attention.

Sorry to hear that the motor mounts were hard to replace. Same on the 928...one of the most onerous jobs on the car. They say it really makes a difference though.

It made a huge difference, the car does not vibrate at all at idle, what a joy <img src="/forum/images/smilies/968/cool.gif" class="smilie" alt="" />
