red = before

blue = after

... note the change in AFR, especially down low.

Is the black line the blue line? <img src="/forum/images/smilies/968/smile.gif" class="smilie" alt="" />

Ok well, I took a squizz at it <img src="/forum/images/smilies/968/biggrin.gif" class="smilie" alt="" />

So the AFR changed from steadily declining, to steadily inclining? Interesting...

Not much change in power though, unless I'm missing something?

Yeah, I'm a little puzzled, too. The vertical axis is 4 hp per division, so it looks like a negligible gain in power, and no modification of the curve as a function of rpm. Yet so many people swear by this chip. What gives?

In the test I did with the ProMax 7100 chip, there was a good 10 hp and 10 ft-lb increase across the board, peaking at an 11.5 hp/ft-lb increase, as compared to the factory chip. I didn't test any other chips but my understanding is that most are within a hp/ft-lb or two of each other.

this is dangerous territory - the dyno has everything to do with it - i cannot stress enough that you CANNOT compare one test to another - conditions, dynos, and cars would HAVE to be matched exactly to get the same results twice

i don't want to get into more comparisons, or further arguments about which chip does what - we all know how ugly that gets - so, let's keep this focused on this test

the afr curve there on this chart is what concerns me
