I have no experience with (nor knowledge off) installing a chip into my car. So, what do I need?. Does it affect my smog check in CA?

I have the RSBARN Stage 1. I had a Weltmeister chip in the car when I bought it and didn't know until swapping chips. I like the RSBARN one better.


Replacing the chip,is pretty straightforward, but different ECUS need different versions of the chip. I would give Pete a call and discuss your specific car. You may need to pull the old chip or not first to get there version number. i did not have to for my 93.

I replaced the chip in my cab when I first got it. I've passed California smog several times since. Go for it.
