968 front calipers and drilled rotors for sale - Stephenwz968 - 12-13-2006

I've upgraded, and am selling a set of 968 front calipers in ok shape, they could use a new set of spring plates. $125 plus shipping.



I'm also selling a set of 968 cross drilled rotors from Vertex, they have less than 200 miles on them. $175 plus shipping.



If anyone is interested in the setup as a whole, I'll sell it for $275 plus shipping.

But when you upgrade the front calipers, don't the old fronts get moved to the back since they have bigger pistons?

I've never heard of that swap....did you put your fronts on the rear? Or do you know someone who has? Thanks,

I have the stock rebuilt brakes with crossdrilled rotors, stainless brake lines, carbon-kevlar pads, and super blue fluid and so have never found the need. Even on the track I have had no fade.



I believe I have heard of it being done that way however (try a search). The calipers should all be identical except for piston size, so doesn't it make sense to add extra clamping force to the rear at the same time to reduce nose dive caused by the larger big reds? Good luck.

I haven't really looked into it, I went with the 928 bias valve to put more towards that back to even it out-I've already sold the setup, so looks like I'm sticking with it! It brakes much better than the stock calipers with metalmasters and drilled rotors, and I've been running stainless lines for a while now. Thanks for the idea!!!

The 1986 - 1995 944 turbo, S2, and 968 non M030 cars all have the exact same calipers on all 4 hubs as far as piston size and brake pads are concerned. They just use a bias valve like you talked about earlier to seperate the hydraulic action!

Stephen, I forgot to mention that I also have the 928 brake bias valve which is also a great update for stock calipers.



Boost, that's incorrect. Run a search, piston sizes are different front to rear. Have you ever had you calipers off the car?

The front non-M030 has 40mm and 36mm pistons while the rear has 30mm and 28mm. M030 has 44mm and 36mm fronts.
