Im posting this on hear as there arnt many cars in the UK with a third brake light..
Ive just managed to get a hatch with a 3rd brake light... <img src="/forum/images/smilies/968/smile.gif" class="smilie" alt="" />
Im now in need of some info ,,
What size / wattage are the bulbs that fit into the lamp...
The ones that are currently fitted in mine are dull + blackened from use, also theres no markings on them telling me the wattage..
Ive found Dave Greimans site on how to fit LEDs, + find it usefull. Its a pity he,s "gone fishin"...As ide send it over to him to get it refurbed...Any ideas when he,ll be back.?????
Any help ,as ever, is much appreciated...

Dave,
It's going to look really odd on the cab!!!!!! If you don't get an answer from here try ringing Porsche Germany as it is still stocked in Europe and can be bought new, I would also think Albert at PC Bolton would rise to the challenge of finding out what you need to know, or try BBZ on the UK forum as his car has one fitted.

If you're talking about the center high mount light (hangs down at the top of the hatch, just below the roofline) it's the same bulb as for the brake lights in the cluster. The Osram/Sylvania application guide lists #7506; I'm not sure what that translates to in the UK. It's basically a 21 watt, single fillament bulb. They also go by #1156 here in the states.
In the auto parts shop, have the clerk look up the brake light bulb for an '89 944 and that'll be the one.
I added this fixture one to my '84; it was easy to tap into the brake light bulb on the left side of the car and just run a pair of wires up for the high mount bulb.

Let's see....if you're braking late going into certain corners, it's likely no one will be on your tail, eh? Unless....it's another Porsche.
