O.K. I know that it is my car and I should do what I want, but I would like some opinions on interior trim. I just put a Blaupunkt head unit in and it has a silver finish. Now I am thinking about an interior trim kit. It comes in wood, brushed aluminum or carbon fibre. I dont think wood goes well in a Red car. My car is red with black interior. Also, what do you think about red floor mats VS. black. Does anyone have pictures of the interior trim kit installed in brushed aluminum or carbon fibre. How about red mats in a black interior? Oh, and has anyone installed the guage trim rings...is it worth it?

Perhaps it is my former military aviation experience, but I prefer a low key look. Good contrast between the gauge background color and the numbers. Minimal brightwork that might produce a flask of reflected sunlight or anything that might distract my attention from drving or cause me take my eyes off the road, is to be avoided in my judgement.

I like your wheel. Was it difficult to install?

Thanks!
No not to difficult. It does require a new turn signal switch and a momo adapter. You can pick up a none airbag switch on ebay pretty cheap.

Miles, was that a kit or a custom insert that you made? The kit that I was thinking about is and adhesive kit. Very racy looking though, what does the outside of your car look like? If anyone has used this type of kit, how does it hold up in the heat and how good is fit & trim.

The complete carbon kit is a bit much for my taste. I'm going for aluminum accents. I will add a genuine porsche Carbon shifter as well.
I installed the rings last weekend. I really appreciate how it accents the black back drop.
I got some glue on the frame and its bothering me to the point of buying another frame and starting over. (see batt gauge ring). anyhoo, hope this helps and please post pics of your project.

Very tasteful, I think they will go well with the brushed aluminum kit. What did you do about lighting?

personally, i don't like "stick on" anything - if it's real wood, and replaces the dash, fine - i actually like wood - same if it's aluminum - i hate carbon fiber altogether, but i'm also not 18
