94 cab on ebay, interesting fix - jeff968 - 09-12-2007

This is a first (for me anyway). I know there are many "manual" tops out there that have been created by owners when problems emerge. This is the first time I've seen someone go so far as to remove the switch from the console. This thing must be really messed up.

Jeff968: Good catch on the removal of the convertible top switch.

The tan cab top on this car looked as if it were a homemade job. It was stated as having a previous salvage title due to an accident and the headlamps and entire front of the car looked like it was put back together poorly. It is a shame what happens to some 968s!

It's back... And you're right, there was never a tan top offered from the factory.

There's no shortage of Armoral at The Car Man Company.

The "968" on the rear is offset to the left.

The top is just awful.

This car was considered "Salvage" after only three years on the road (salvage title from 1997). It must have be hit really,REALLY hard! No thank you!

94 cab on ebay, interesting fix - flash - 09-14-2007

there are a number of reasons a car can fall into "salvage"

stolen or impounded cars from drug dealers are a good example

cars that have had mechanic's leins on them too

i've seen quite a few cars that fell into salvage, that were perfectly good cars, and had not been as a result of collision damage

i look at those on a case by case basis, and find out what the history is, before passing judgement on it

True - But given the "fit and finish" of this particular example, I would not take the chance.

Ahhh tan and red - I wanted a tan interior, and started to drool when I saw these pics...

But the Salvage title <img src="/forum/images/smilies/968/sad.gif" class="smilie" alt="" />

and if the roof is broken - I suspect was due to the accident.
