Any interest in a national/world map indicating member location...it would be interesting to see the concentration of ownership...anyone...just a thought

Not ONE member in Germany....interesting!

Northeast seems to have the heaviest concentration

Mapping Membership - 968rz - 01-26-2008

That map has been around awhile, Glau made that at least 2years ago. Very nice but no where near all of us.

Mapping Membership - gryphon - 01-26-2008

Good luck. Some people won't even disclose what state they live in.

this has been a topic of discussion amongst the partners

i understand about not wanting to get onto that map - it's too defining - however, the idea is valid

i'm going to try to rectify the problem a bit, though i have not yet figured out how exactly to do it - i think we should really have at least a city listing of all the members - that way people could look and see who is in their area, and potentially get an event going, or solve a problem - the members would still be able to say "no thanks" - there is no harm in it, and no other information needs to be given out - it seems plain silly to me though to not list what city you are in - who knows? you might even have a bit of fun, or meet some new friends

I agree completely, Bob. Disclosing city and state really isn't a privacy issue to me. It seems like common courtesy, considering how often people post geographic-related questions.

It's really no different than what's disclosed in member info...just a different format..If they've agreed at that point...what's the difference?

It's Super Cool!

Agree that it's really helpful to know what other 968 owners live in my geography. Going to Celebration last year was a great way to meet people and learn who's nearby, but not everyone was able to make it. I did put together an event last spring and it was great that I could get in touch directly with folks who are in the geography. And I agree that having city and state isn't a big deal for privacy. Just my 2 cents' worth.

On ! Cool map. <img src="/forum/images/smilies/968/cool.gif" class="smilie" alt="" />

Mapping Membership - unknown4u - 02-03-2008

It was a long time ago that I placed myself on the map.

But now you all know I'm on. <img src="/forum/images/smilies/968/wink.gif" class="smilie" alt="" />

Mapping Membership - RPM - 02-03-2008

I always find it funny that people blank out their license plate in photos.

Uhhh... can't potentially bad people see the plate when you drive down the street?

Mapping Membership - Terence Ledger - 02-04-2008

Hi All, comment about no one from Germany... I am close in Luxembourg. Have a red 92 coupe manual that I just bought. 75K on the clock from new. Time warp car.
