I thought I saw a post awhile back on how to fix a twisted seat belt but when i run a search nothing came up.
anyone remember or have any tricks on how to untwist the seat belt?

Fold the belt across itself at a 90 degree angle and work it through the guide--takes about 2 minutes.

Tom, you 'da man ! The 968's ok but two of our other cars have that "symptom" so now I'll be able to look like a wizzard to wife and my son who have been subjected to driving with twisted seat belts for who knows how long..
Now if that same technique would only work with the Rubik's cube I left abandoned ( ok, threw it against the wall )in my garage decades ago..

Are you referring to the guide being the part that clicks into the seat belt receptor.
i.e. the male part going into the female receiver?
That has a clearance of about 1/16th of an inch, it is not possible to bend it over 90 degrees and push or pull threw

it's hard, but it does work - you can actually get 2 thickness of material in there

What amazes me is how something so difficult to correct is so easy to cause. How the belts get reversed in normal buckling/unbuckling is beyond my meager understanding.

yeah - that one is a mystery to me too - i've seen it happen before - completely boggles the mind

When I first discovered this solution, I twisted it the wrong way and then had a double twist...DOH! As flash mention, it is tight but does indeed work. You just roll it between your index finger and thumb until it fold over on itself.
Now for the real question...
Which way should the buckle be facing when the belt is off...towards the interior of the car or towards the exterior? Then, when you pull it to put it on, will there be a half twist or 1 full twist? Inquiring minds want to know...
