Recently I saw a picture of a light blue cab with the 10 spoke Sport Design wheels. I have been trying to find it again without any luck. If someone has pictures of this car OR a white cab with these wheels please post them.

I believe there is also a slate grey coupe (maybe cab, but I think coupe) with the Porsche Sport Design 10 spokers floating around here too.... Can't recall the member's name off hand.

I like the Sport Designs on a coupe, but I don't think they look "right" on the cab - strictly a personal preference thing.

I'm undecided if I like them or not. Have you seen 996 twists on a cab?

Not a fan of twists on anything.... have never liked them at all. I think the twists look like they come from off the shelf at PepBoys! Probably a little harsh, but I'm entitled to my opinion even if it is wrong! <img src="/forum/images/smilies/968/laugh.gif" class="smilie" alt="" />

I'm partial to 17's on the 968 because I think 18"ers are just a little too big for the car (sorta like seeing a new 997 with 19" and 20" wheels- all these new cars with large wheels right from the factory are starting to look "toy-like").

With that said- Dave Greiman's white coupe looks amazing with the 18" Porsche Sport Classic II wheels. A b!tch to keep clean, but they look the business. The new Carrera III 5 spokers also look nice- a couple of cabs near me have these and they are a very good match for the cab. These have the added benefit of being very easy to keep clean.

For my cab, I am sticking with the OEM 17" 5 spokers.

I wish I had Photoshop and Photoshop skills so I could post 968's with all different colors and wheel combos... I enjoy seeing these types of things.

I don't want to go with 18's but the options are so limited in 17. I like the cup wheels but everyone has them.

Certainly good points. Luckily, I hardly ever see a 968 on the road where I frequent. And when I do, the ones I have seen have either the 16" standard 5 spoke wheels or some aftermarket 18's like Anteras. I believe I have also seen one with the 94-95 CupII 17" wheels. Mine has the 92-93 C2Turbo style 17" wheels which I have yet to see on a 968 around me.

Grain of salt- I have only seen 3-4 968's near me and they don't appear too often.

I think the twists might look good if you were to have them painted with a gunmetal or black chrome finish. Something other than the standard silver paint.

lol - i'm working on creating a display sheet of the different wheels on the 968 - i can't believe how much stuff has piled up for me to build for the site

i too would change back to 17s if i could only find a set i liked, that were under 19lbs, and were 9" wide that had an offset i could use all around - i like the 18s, and they handle amazingly well, but for the street, they aren't as comfortable as i'd like - not bad, now that i have the suspension working well, but still, smoother would be even better (i think i'm getting old) - the big thing is the outer mass issue - i want to move that mass more inward to regain some of the acceleration - the car was quicker out of the hole with the 17s, even though these 18s are lighter - the tires are heavier - i'm still lighter net weight, but the rotational mass difference is not working for me - i could merely change to a lighter tire, but why not go all the way?

likely i will have to build wheels AGAIN to fit the car - probably a 17x9 with a 57mm offset, and use 5mm spacers on the rear - i hate spacers, but i like the idea of being able to rotate the tires - then i could run a 255/40 all around - i'd give up a bit of rear traction, but i could probably mitigate a lot of that in suspension adjustment - it's not like i ever see the limits of traction on the street anyway, and i would run something entirely different on the track (like a different car altogether)

yup - those were 7" wide front and 8" wide rear though, as opposed to the 9" we have

As opposed to 7.5 fronts and 9.0 rears for the 968 to be exact, but would work, the 9 rears were used on the 964 turbo. The European 964 RS used 7.5 fronts, but with a different offset to the 968 (and in magnesium)

I have 17 " Sport Classic 11 wheels in Anthracite on my Slate Grey metallic Coupe.....I could post some pics here but most of my pics get rejected as too big although no such problem on the Uk Forum.

Those, that you have, are Sport Classic I wheels, 17". The Sport Classic II versions are 18" 2-piece wheels. Both are made for Porsche by BBS.

I currently have the 17" Sport Classic I wheels on my coupe.

Yours look nice!

Thanks Flash...I followed your advice and re-sized a pic of my Sport classic 1's ( I stand corrected ) before they were re-painted. The image ..if it comes out...is now 450 x 338

They are sweet looking wheels, unfortunately they are hard to come by used unless you go to Wheel Enhancement. I haven't called them yet but I am sure they are a little pricey. And the financial advisor says my limit is $1000 for wheels...
