Crank position sensor shim - kwikt - 10-01-2008

Anyone know the shim thickness to adjust the crank position sensor bracket. Paragon sells a 2mm shim but Clarks garage says .8mm. Which one is correct? Thanks!

The workshop manual says the gap should be 0.8 +/- 0.2. This installation was re-engineered for the 968 so I would check the as-assembled gap first. Anywhere from 0.6 to 1.0 is OK.

Thanks Mikeo, just called the local tech and he saying it's not adjustable. So if I remove the bracket it should go in the same place as removed(I hope). Reason for this... I stripped the top allen screw that holds the sensor. So to remove the screw I have to remove the bracket and take it out as a unit.

Interesting... The WSM page D24/28-12 says

So my take is that if you have a low signal problem, check the gap.
