Well, I think that about covers it for the stereo install. I would say I have about 30-40 hours into it total. Lots of work, but I LOVE it. It's not a $6,000 B&O radio that comes in a new high end car....but it ROCKS. It could use a little more bass, but that would require a sub woofer and another amp. I am totally satisfied and LOVE the Nav system! It's better than most new ones. Great directions.



I spent about $500 on the used equipment, $100 for new 5.25" speakers and about another $100 in other wiring and supplies. I think I did it pretty cheap considering.



If your car looks like this during the course of the install, don't be afraid, it will go back together. Happy Installing!

actually, if you install the JL Audio C3-650s in the rear, and have reasonable eq and crossover control, you shouldn't need a sub. those things hit hard.



of course, the power requirement for those may exceed your deck, thereby requiring an amp. however, alpine makes a new tiny amp that would do the job.

That is the last thing I have to do is to paint it black, but have the covers back on. I was cleaning up the garage and wondered where the can of black spray paint came from....oh yea, I bought it to paint the foam!



I way over filled it, had to cut it out on the passenger side. Didn't fill it with anything else.











I would suggest that you fill it part way, walk away, drink a beer, go to sleep, and then fill it more the next day, drink a beer, go to sleep and then do the rest of the install.

nope - the focals (even the bang zoom $1000 set) don't go nearly as low as the JLs and they also are not designed for free air, which means the box must be totally sealed to even get to the low spec they do have. any air leaks, and you lose bottom end response
