What was meant by the phrase "true 968 blocks" Lear35A?

I think what I meant was block with a 968 serial number. I almost bought a block that was advertised as a 968. Turned out to be an S2 block. The only difference may be the piston oil squirters, but that's a serious difference. "Trust but verify."

Ah! I see. Is you block being checked for flatness on the face it will be sitting on when being bored out. Cast aluminium moves very easily when pulled down this could affect the true running of the bores when clamps are released, seriously!
