Don't know if I missed it but haven't heard about any progress on the 3D crystal. Will this still happen or has it been abandoned?

I guess you never were able to put into production the scrape guards for the the front splitter. If you don't mind, would you consider sharing the concept? I've also thought about purchasing a second splitter, but I'm saddled with other more pressing expenses at the moment. Any chance the molds will be made available to the folks who produce them so that we might be able to secure new ones in the future?
As many others have said, I can't thank you enough for all the D1R did for the 968. The upper and lower braces really transformed the car. I would have done the chassis brace but I need to preserve the utility of the rear seat fold down. With the seat down the 968 will haul 12 cases of wine. I actually have a Longevity Wines sign to put on the side of the car when I haul wine making it a Porsche Wein ZUG (Porsche Wine Express).

i haven't decided yet what is happening to the molds. that will all be a part of what happens to the company and its product line.
re: the under guard - it's a series of delrin skids, strategically placed so as to be between the splitter and offending objects. i am not going to let the template out until i make one and test it. i wouldn't want it to create more damage than it prevents.

I got my splitter in under the wire! Can't wait to see my car after I get it installed, and my spoiler painted to match, since I have to paint the splitter anyhow.

Wow Bob, I'm shock and sad. I never had the chance to take advantage of you great designs but always dreamed of them. Now, I have no more dreams of the supped up 968 that I always knew I could have. Hopefully you stay (very) active in the 968 community!! Thanks for all you did!!

closing down D1R is only a step in removing myself from the 968. i know myself, and i would once again get far too involved with this stuff if i kept going.
whether or not i remain at all involved with the community will depend largely on whether or not i keep the car. i definitely will not be visiting the site once it is sold.
again, given half a chance, i would get sucked back in, and be right back where i started. while it's great to be able to provide the resources to the community, it is a very small group in terms of a customer base, and not that much larger in terms of a community. it just doesn't justify my prioritizing it as i have. it has really been an obstacle between me and my real work.
really, i have to get out completely, and stay out. i don't think i can keep a toe in the water, and be happy.
so now, once i ship the batch of stuff currently being made, all that is left is the ability to put together a couple of supercharger kits. i think everything else is done.

I really do wish you all the best for the future, My 968 experience has been better for this site, your input and the products provided by Design 1.
I left the Fire Service after more than 30 years and have never looked back. Pastures new can be daunting but are all the more exciting because of it.

I think if you talked about a product that would increase the speed of that result and its applicability to 968 owners it would be fine!
