Cabriolet Rear Deck Alignment - wingers - 03-20-2007

Sorry chaps, i have not had the car long so am unable to give a part number.

When i get to the dealership next i will see if i can find details for you.

Cabriolet Rear Deck Alignment - flash - 03-20-2007

i can't find it in the pet or my parts list - frankly that's the only one i've ever seen

while it makes sense that one would be there, it isn't listed, and was definitely absent on my car when i got it from the incredibly meticulous previous owner at 22k

it looks like a piece of weather stripping that was cut and stuck on - i'm not all that sure it's an original part

Cabriolet Rear Deck Alignment - doster - 03-20-2007

the part numbers are!!!!!

rubber buffer under the rear of lid------999 703 140 40

the stops in the front----------941 504 571 10

Cabriolet Rear Deck Alignment - flash - 03-20-2007

those are the round screw in bumper for the rear and the larger block at the front - neither one is the little piece that is shown around that metal tab

That's good to know. I don't have them. Perhaps my car was repainted by a shlameal that didn't put these back in.

I am not happy with this car. I did a carfax report that was clean but so what. I know that this car was repainted due to over spay on some of the rubber.

I guess I can just turn it around and get a better example.

Has anyone seen a Slate Gray 968? I had a 68 slate gray with red leather. One of the best color combination.

Sorry! I thaught you needed the numbers for wingers pics,

can't find the number for that other rubber part. <img src="/forum/images/smilies/968/sad.gif" class="smilie" alt="" />

steve - don't feel bad - many cars are repainted at the point of entry, prior to delivery to the dealership, and it is not required that porsche disclose this - mine was such a car

so, you may find one that even the prior owner swears up and down that was not repainted, but in fact it was

find one you like, don't worry about repaint, and then drive the thing

There are a few Slate Gray ones out there, one of my favorite colors but none with the combo you had on your '68. White/Silver/Gray with all red interior is my favorite color combo on a sports car.

We have a Slate Gray 95 Cab. Came with a Silver top that wore badly and looked dirty as a result. Replaced it with a new black top. It has the typical gray interior. At work there is a Slate Gray BMW Z3 with a burgundy top, that red doesn't look with the color. The black top provided a nice understated look.

i saw a slate grey cab at parade in portland - very stately color

My car does not have the rubber pads on the metal extensions. I'm guessing someone (not Porsche) stuck those on thinking they would do something worthwhile.

it looks like there should be something there to catch the hinge - i've just never seen it and can't find the part number

i will be adding something now though - thanks - i needed another project

Ducati has a touring bike that is slate gray with red wheels.

It works on the bike and I have seen red seats in a 356 my old 68 and an Alfa Giulietta. It works there to but with a modern car like the 968 I would be subtle with the red. Just paint the brake calipers and maybe the Porsche emblems on the wheels. The interior and rag top should be black and night.

I am starting to talk myself into painting my car like that. That would look good, but your point is well taken Bob. It may be too stately for the 968. It would have to be done just so.

I have a slate gray with red (bordeau) top en black interior. I really like it.

About the little part in the back noone knows the serial number, could it been at part for mounting a hard top ?

kind regards

Cabriolet Rear Deck Alignment - Steve - 03-27-2007

Hi Rudolf

Thanks for the picture. It is a good looking car.

Are you in Germany? I was there last May to visit friends near Cleve.

I had a woulderful time for the 4 days I spent there.

I wish I would had more time, but I had to drive down to the Lotte Valley in France to visit other freinds. A lot of driving on that trip.

Cheers

Steve
