honestly not sure... finding those specs isn't the easiest thing to come up with.

On start up, the current spikes up to 30 amps or so, then settles in to something in the couple amp range.

I've always used 8 ga wire in the past for my harnesses for the lights without a problem.

Back when Ice Shark was blessing us with his presence, there was quite a bit of evidence that supported the contention that even the stock lights, when used with his cables (and relays, which are part of his setup) put out substantially - make that SUBSTANTIALLY - more light. I've just been too lazy to do the install. Irrespective, though, I'd still like to see the popups go away.

it's possible, if he used a significant increase in the number of strands, but at the amount of draw of the stock headlights, i tend to doubt that the headlight cables themselves had much to do with it - it was far more likely that it was the battery and alternator cables that made them brighter - as i remember, everything i read at the time about his setup was always as a total package - in that case, yes, i agree, it would make a difference, and certainly no harm should be done by also upgrading the headlight cables, especially if one is considering a higher draw lamp

...and, I might add, enough taillight modification discussion in the General category. Maybe, at the right time, a new thread in the Modification section will be appropriate.
