Probably has a bit of a pull to the left, and all that Armorall on the tires can't be good

Gotta plan a trip in Austria, just in case they'd sell it...

I'm up for a trip! Maybe we should look at arranging an all 968 road trip to both museums...

"To avoid Allied bomb raids the Porsche vehicle manufactoring company from 1944 on was headquartered in Gmünd until it moved back to the Zuffenhausen district of Stuttgart in 1950. In a former sawmill Ferdinand Porsche together with Erwin Komenda designed and built the first Porsche 356 sports cars, including the prototype "No.1" from 1948".

I didn't know that...

So the cutaway 968 is in Austria!!! I know they have a 968 cab on display at the Museum in Germany and i wondered what happened to the cutaway car. I'm glad it can still be seen.

Jay, it has that magenta interior that you love. Like it better with the polar silver?

Laurentdebrue,

That's AWESOME!

Besides being a very cool display. there are so many parts I would like to pull off of it, if I were given a few hours alone with it.

Thanks for posting.

Scott

BTW - I was in Brussels in June, 2004, on the last leg of a tour to celebrate the 60th anniv. of "D-Day". Great place. I would love to go back someday.

Can anyone pick out the major flaw in this car beyond it's open air look? Maybe it got cut up because someone got confused and messed up on the line.

Well, there is no ATF in the Tiptronic fluid reservoir, but I suppose the is the norm for display cars.

What is the looping pipe, looks like a fluid cooler, above the oil cooler in the right front? The Tiptronic has an ATF cooler in the left front, similar to the engine oil cooler.

It has the Euro front turn signals, but not the side marker lamps behind the front wheels?

It doesn't have the Design 1 chassis braces and supercharger?
