The Other Side
#1

One of the primary reasons the Forum was started and has continued to exist under the capable partnership of it's owners is to provide information regarding our beloved 968's. As time goes on this information presented in a straight forward and unbiased fashion will become more valuable.

Yet I was reminded yesterday that there are othe valuable components to membership to the Forum. What you ask? The building of friendships, acquaintances, and just plain knowledge of various people on the Forum.

Yesterday I went to pick up my track car from Provost in NJ and Jay was kind enough to come over to say hello. I haven't seen Jay for a couple of years but a friendship had been started at several previous events of the Forum. Jay and I went out for breakfast and yukked it up and caught up. It was a thoroughly enjoyable morning. It was like we had just seen each other. I suppose as one get's older one appreciates moments like this more.

For the newer members who are investing time in hosting the summer event, I applauded you. Unfortunately we will not be able to attend because of a family vacation which leaves me somewhat disappointed. But for those of you who do attend, enjoy the advantage of meeting potential new friends or reconnecting with old friends. It is the other side of membership in the Forum!

I just love to reconnect with all of my 968 friends, and actively seek opportunities to meet up whenever/wherever I am. Melva and I arranged to meet Kim when we were in Nova Scotia for the day on a cruise and with Viktor when we visiting Bratislava on a Danube River cruise. I have found that  it is incredibly rewarding to meet 968ers , and am constantly astounded how much we have in common beyond our love for Porsche. I got spoiled when RS Barn was only 4 miles from home and I could visit with all of the customers just about every weekend. Now I hunt for owners in the area and just never randomly run into 968s anywhere.

I have said so many times, that if I sold the 968, I would really miss the car, but I could never replace the people that I have met through my ownership.

Please, reach out and meet other owners!

Jay

Thanks Rap taking this subject up, not only cars it is the people and friendship issue very much. I believe that we have build up life long friendship, regardless that I am now back in Australia.

I have already met here few 968 owners and will be meeting soon more on the track and Porsche club events here in Brisbane and Gold Coast area.

Rap, Thank You for the friendship and have the most enjoyable DE season.

yes, and I enjoyed that also Jay. You were one of the "boat people", for which Nova Scotia is famous.
