Porsche 968 Ad Wanted
#1

I was looking through the galleries of literature and came across this Porsche ad for the 968. I think I have all of the others (well the ones that I have seen), but I have never seen this ad for sale (normally look on EBay). Does anyone have one that they do not want (or is willing to send to Australia - as I get them scanned and made into a single ad and framed).

Let me know if there is one out there gathering dust somewhere.

I'll keep a lookout as I collect also and I'm with you - I have never seen this. Do you know if it was a showroom poster or magazine ad? It's worded as a mass media ad would be.

Any way that a better resolution can be scanned in?

I have tried reading the print on my screen; by printing it out; by saving it as a "picture" in my files and then printing it out in "large" format; and I still cannot read the add. <img src="/forum/images/smilies/968/mad.gif" class="smilie" alt="" />

It looks like a "sister" add to the "How to look like a million bucks" add.

My favorite is the pink 968 cab with the skis and the chains in the snow. Do you have that one?

Not sure off the top of my head if I have the pink cab ad, but I know I have the one with the sky diver and the guy jumping over a cab on snow skis. I also have all (that I have seen) of the art photo's (car in forecourt, old western village, etc).

I am travelling at the moment, so it might be a good idea when I get home to take some photo's of all of the stuff I have collected and post it to see if anyone knows of something missing.

Any chance Porsche USA would have records or proofs of these ads or a listing of all of the material relating to the 968?

As far as I know, none of these ads were run in Australia - they were North American only.

No, it was a 1 page add in Christoporus (sp?) magazine. I have it. It is the rear of the pink 968 cab on a snow covered mountain with the skis. Great to see the contrast between the car and the white snow.

craigawoodman - Former Porsche employee buddys tell me that Porsche redid its computer system in 2000 - likely the Y2K scare. I told that a lot of what could once be sourced with a keystroke is no longer easily available but since the question has been raised, I'm going to ask. I'll shout back when I can.

Jeff968,

Can you scan a copy and post it along with the Magazine number (or issue). I haven't seen it.

Thanks,

Craig
