Plastic door knob covers
#1

I checked with the dealer, and the little plastic caps that cover the LEDs aren't available separately, and the unit is kind of pricey, so I was wondering if anybody has a pair of these caps available. Mine are both cracked. Thanks.

In Feb, i paid 30 for one from a dismantler. It comes from wires from the clip on the top of the door you see when you take the panel off, 944 637 238, and the locking rod 477 837 183.

Yes, I know, but I don't need the wires or the LED; I just need the little cap, which looks like it should cost a couple of bucks. Wonder what my options are if I can't find them. I have to think this must be a fairly common problem. Thanks.

Cloud,

I will probably have one spare as the LED is out on my passenger side of the Coupe and it sticks up too far, so my guess is that it's busted. I won't know until I pull the door apart and I'll pull everything off the parts car first and swap the entire mechanism. Not sure when I'll get to this but if you're not in a hurry, my guess is that I will indeed have a spare plastic cover. When I got my Cab, the drivers side was broken but the LED worked, so it got glued back together. Perhaps you can glue my cap to your mechanism.

I can't give a review of quality or fitment, but there are aftermarket options. http://www.rennline.com/Rennline-Aluminu...info/DH07/

Looks nice, but at $35 apiece, a bit more than I'd like to spend. I'm surprised this is turning out to be such a difficult thing to replace...

Ah, I see, you're right. This may make this a viable option, then. I checked with Oklahoma Foreign, and they don't sell the caps separately, either.
