PCA Member since 1985
#1

Hi, my name is Jeffrey Edgar. I have been a member of PCA first with the Chicago Region, then Golden Gate and now Sacramento Valley. I have owned a 1972 914 1.7, a 1984 944, a 1988 944 Turbo, a 2000 Boxster Tip and now a 1995 968. All were used cars except for the 1984 944. I guess the total mileage is over 200,000 for all cars combined. I owned the 944 Turbo for 15 years with many memories attached. I just purchased the 968 in March 2013.

I have been a driving instructor from 1993 through 2007. I met lots of people and had many great experiences. I have driven a total of 13 tracks if memory serves. A close friend back in Illinois lets me drive his 911 for the Memorial Day Road America. He currently owns a 2011 911 GTS with some track oriented mods. I will drive that car in 2014 I hope. I was in Paris with my wife in 2013.

And now I am in the middle of completing a triple screen virtual racing rig after having enjoyed Playstation and Xbox racing. The PC for the rig has required some significant upgrades to handle the triple screen configuration. Hopefully the saga of setup will end soon.

Welcome and hopefully the 968 will provide both as long lived and as memorable (for all the right reasons) as the 944 Turbo.

Many a 944 Turbo fan here that has either moved on or given up finding a good example.

All the best.

Wow, that's quite a string of Porsche ownership. Hopefully the 968 will meet/exceed your expectations. Welcome

Wow, thats weird. What are the chances someone else in your city would buy a 968 around the same time as you! I also have a 914 and a good friend in Orangevale has has a 914-6 3.0. We'll have to go for a drive soon!

Welcome! I had contemplated assembling a virtual racing rig myself a few years ago to fill in the long gaps between track events, when a track (actually a track driving academy) open up a few miles from my house, allowing me to go as often as my budget allowed. But I, along with many others here, am definitely interested in what you've come up with.
