parts at dealer cost + (plus) 15%
#1

Once again Sunset Porsche in Beaverton Oregon is having their annual tent sale where you can get any part for the Porsche at dealer cost +15%. I do not work for them nor have any affiliation with them, but know that we all like to save money. The phone number is 503-601-3068 or 1-800-346-0182.

The sale is only on September 7 from 9AM - 2PM

You can place the orders in advance and pay for them when you pick them up. Do they ship, I do not know? Call them to find out.

ps. I make a list during the year and buy everything i can afford on my list at this sale. I save about 15-20 % even with a porsche club discount on each purchase

Someone set me straight - I've been ordering from Sunset for years, thinking I was paying cost + 15%. So now only few times a year? :-( Where do you find announcements of the sales? I checked their website but couldn't find anything.

Sunset has been great over the years - ordering from them is always very easy and the parts staff is always ready to help hunt down that elusive part number - so even if I'm payin' a little more than I thought I was they're still my go-to shop.

You can get cost +15% all year long. That is the discount you get when you mention the Excellence Magazine add. I order from Phil Coy philcoy@sunsetimports.com Send him an email with your order or any questions. Mention my name and the 968 forums site if you want. I told him I was posting this on the site. One more thing. I think you have to live outside of OR to get the discount.

Yesterday I got this reply from Sunset, when I asked about the customer appreciation day:

"The Customer Appreciation day is for our local customers to get our lowest discount that day. This is the same discount I have already provided you with."

"I am glad you checked in today because Porsche parts prices usually increase at the beginning of the year so this quote is only good if the order is placed today. They can raise prices monthly but January 1[sup]st[/sup] is when the largest update usually happens and we have heard substantial rumors that most prices will increase."

I was planning to wait until the January 28 day, but after I got this reply I placed the order on new years eve.

So it seems the customer appreciation day allows local (Oregon) residents to get the same discount that those outside Oregon get all the time.
