I wanted to take a minute to thank all of the people in the background that have helped me pursue 968 perfection over the years. It is all too easy to forget to stop and say "thanks", and just keep trudging forward. I am often so focused on the target that I sometimes forget to acknowledge the things that happen along the way.
First and foremost, I want to thank Pete and Max at RS Barn. The association between RS Barn and Design 1 Racing has been beneficial to both of us, and 968ers, in ways that defy description. Pete and Max's knowledge of the 968 has been essential to facilitating the development of my products for this car. Without them, I would have spent much more time figuring things out, or failed completely.
The supercharger kit alone involved countless phone calls to Pete and Max, discussing idiosyncrasies of the car, experiences with different components, behaviors of other modifications, and expectations of resultant nets. I was on the phone at least a few times a week, sometimes a couple of times in one day, with them over the period of 6 months as I worked on the kit. This took them away from other things they would be doing, and that time really added up. Even if I called just to chit-chat, and apprise them of my progress, there was often talk about the kit that was helping me to brainstorm, as well as problem solve. All of it was as distraction from their daily work. There were also quite a few parts flying back and forth across the country, often at the drop of a hat. I wanted to be sure that I said "thank you" aloud, for that. Access to a resource like RS Barn has been invaluable, and saved me countless hours in development.
Pete, and I have had our "heated discussions" along the way, we each have our own strong ideas about perfecting a system. The beauty of our connection is that we are both passionate about making 968s faster, sturdier, and better than the day they left the factory. Without him, and his unending willingness to help, many things would not have happened the way they did. We were told, together and separately, that Porsche had wrung every horse out of the design, and had spent years perfecting the marquee, after 5 years of developing improvements, I think we can say that we have proved the "authorities" wrong.
I also want to take a minute to thank Josh (Banditsc). His help with the website has been a key to keeping this site running. Josh is never too busy to help us in maintaining it and upgrading it. I cannot begin to tell you all the things he has done that have been a huge help to 968Forums, and a huge value to all of us.
Jay (94silvercab) has been the unsung hero in all of this. What you don't see in his breezy posts are the late night phone calls and e-mails that keep the site on track. His ability to be the voice of reason has helped temper my tendency to be a pain in the butt and fly off half-cocked. HIs counsel has often been the only thing that kept me from doing some really stupid things.
Of course, a big thank you goes out to the membership. Without you, this site would be worthless.
If I forgot to mention anybody, please don't take it personally. I just suck at saying "thank you".
