lol - total waste of time. i'm not spending a minute on something that would only result in a max of 2hp

i've already done what i am going to do in the way of power development. the stage 2 stuff for the SC will be the absolute last bit of that, and it's a lot more about safety and extended boost use than anything else

I spent 6 hours today, while on vacation, driving up to Stable Energies which Max referred me to. Looking for seats and harnesses. Took longer than I thought but that was because the guy was very deliberate and informative in providing me with info to make my choices. Man this stuff is expensive. But would not been able to properly select a seat without sitting in it. Slowly everything is coming together. It should be pretty neat when this all is done and I pick up the car. The butcher's bill rises quickly! How many people wear Hans?

you need to start your own thread

back to my list.

should have working parts for the stage 2 setup by the end of the week and on to tuning and such over the weekend.

as soon as i get that pretty nailed, i can move on to the oil cooler setup. pretty excited about that one.

I know this is a sleeping thread but...

After my front end respray my body guy pointed out that the headlight trim rings were broken. He left them off so I could deal with them. I doubt you will get to a kit for this in your semi-retirement so are there any words of wisdom? The tabs are broken off in a few places, they don't remain so I can't even make templates for a quick repair. I know the design is poor and you can't even see them unless its night time but they are a part of the car and it will bother me, I know it shouldn't :-P

They are still easily available and not horribly expensive. I replaced all of the covers and screws and it really makes a nice difference.

Thanks Darryl, never really considered new rings. Usually the OEM price along with paint of any Porsche product would put something in the "try to fix it yourself" category.

Which part, exactly, is the headlight trim ring? Are you talking about #15 and 16, on 806-00 in the PET?

Don't have PET here at work but it's the skinny ring at the bottom of the light (inside) You only see it when your lights are up; it closes the gap between the fender opening and the bottom of the light housing. IT's about 20 cm round and 3 cm thick with 2 attachment wings in the inside.

Went and found a 968 Katalog - 944 750 151 00. It's the cross brace at the top of the semi-circle that cracks and falls out leaving the ring to just rattle in the bottom of the housing.

Sounds good. I picked up a piece of tin today to mock something up on the weekend for fun. I doubt the effort will be satisfactory but I need something to occupy my wake time. <img src="/forum/images/smilies/968/wacko.png" class="smilie" alt="" />

If you do that would be great; save me some test fitting and template cutting time for sure. Don't want to step on any D1R future products though.
