It has only been a few short days since the ownership changes at 968Forums.com, and things have already improved. We have made the site easier to navigate and the search ability of topics more compartmentalized. In the next few days we will be adding even more great new features.
We are adding a new front page, complete with 968 info, Member’s photos, a 968 goodies store front, links, and all kinds of other cool stuff.
We are also moving the server. We were experiencing many errors and problems, because we had grossly overtaxed our storage capacity. The new server will be much faster, have more storage, and more bandwidth.
In the next few days, you will also see us upgrading the software. This will provide better protection against spam, as well as offer a few new features. The look and functionality should remain essentially unchanged. There is likely to be some real-time changing going on, so bear with us as it takes place. It should not affect you, except that you might see things being moved around.
You should note that you might need to change your bookmark for this site on your browser. From the moment we flip the switch on, www.968Forums.com will take you to the new front page, rather than directly to the content of the site.
The server change will occur Wed Jan 30 at 5am Pacific. It is likely to take at least a couple of hours, depending on your service provider (MSN and AOL will take a bit longer for the DNS to update). During this time, the site will be down. We apologize for the inconvenience, but we think you will agree that it will be MUCH better.
