Hello,

I just joined the forum today. I have a silver 1994 968 Cabriolet. It's been in the family for about 10 years. It took me a while to warm up to it. Around town it seemed heavy and I didn't like how where the automatic transmission shift points were. Over the last few years I've had the chance to do more back road driving and found out how good the car really is.

Looking forward to seeing other posts on the forum.

Hello Klaus, welcome to the forum!

I bet youve got some fun roads to explore in your area.

There are a lot of things you can do to 'wake up' the car if youre the type who likes to tinker, or do some wrenching. For example, airbox mod.

How many miles on the car?

Be sure to replace the timing belt ASAP if it hasnt been done in the last 4-5 years, regardless of miles. Then "while you're in there" replace cam chain and pads (if the pads show significant wear) if that hasnt been done, and pay special attention to setting the cam timing. This job is certainly within the reach of anyone, as I did it myself over a year ago. A few special tools make the job much easier. Much help and advice to be found here for any project, just ask!

Seek out the pdf version of the workshop manual if you dont already have it.

Wishing you a fun time with your 968!
