New member from California

Hi, my name is Phil, I've just recently bought a Red Porsche 968 Coupe Manual with a LSD. I live in Oceanside, California. I've always loved these cars, and started looking for one 4 months ago on Craig's List, Auto Trader, and E-bay. I test drove 2 cars, probably looked at 100 ads. Finally I found a great deal on a Red on Black with 90,000 miles that has been meticulously kept. It was in Minnesota, So this past weekend I flew there, purchased it, and drove the car back 2,000 miles. Amazing road trip through the mountains and the National parks, not a single problem with the car. I love everything about it. Just like everyone I have the idea of turbo or supercharger in my head, but realistically I'd like to put in a new radio and speakers, upgrade the suspension, and larger wheels for some lower profile tires.

I'm also in the process of restoring a 1976 Triumph TR6 as well which I have owned for 8 years.

I look forward to being a part of this community.

Thanks -Phil

Phil,

Welcome!!!

I'm in La Jolla.

I have a set of pristine Genuine Porsche 18" Hollow Spoke "twist" wheels available.

Very light, fantastic performance and you can't beat the fit of Genuine Porsche wheels.

Let me know if you're interested.

A big Rhude welcome.

Glad to hear that your patience was rewarded with a well maintained car. The suspension is a great place to start. This car really shines in its handling. Now all we need are some pics.

Haha, I like your style, unfortunately, TDG is a little more involved than that. My Triumph TR6 had the License plate TRISIX when I lived in North Carolina, and I've since started a company doing 3D product design and engineering, called Trisix Design Group

Thanks for all the greetings by the way! I have a bunch of questions about the car (wheel options, double din stereos, why my cruise control doesn't work) but I guess I should wait until I have forum privileges so I can put them in the right spot (-:

I too recently bought a 1992 968 from a private party in Washington state.
I too live in OC.
Look forward to meeting you sometime and compare cars.
My cruise control worked great on the drive down from Washington.
