New member, close to purchase... Maryland
#1

Hi, I'm new to the forum, but about to purchase a cab. Hopefully, she'll come home this weekend and we'll have great weather for it.

I'm hoping to delete the rear seat delete... anyone done this? Can a 9 year old sit in the back with the top down? It seems one of the crossbars may interfere with the head position.

I'm in southern Maryland, so perhaps if anyone else wants to enjoy the great weather with two or more 968 cabs on the road, we should make contact.

Thanks for an awesome forum, even before purchasing, I've found the solutions to the routine problems. I'm looking forward to lending a hand myself.

the rear seats do not allow for any sort of shoulder harness. there is no point high enough to mount the pivot that would not result in spinal compression. this makes it illegal to use the rear seats in a cab in most states, and unsafe in any state. you'll have to check your state laws on that to see if you can do it legally.

that being said, it has been done. canadian cabs came that way, as did european ones, as other countries do not have the same level of safety tests to undergo.

Welcome! Plenty of other 968's in your area. Well, compared to my area anyway, where there are approximately none. <img src="/forum/images/smilies/968/biggrin.png" class="smilie" alt="" />

Hi Jim

Welcome, I live in Northern VA area and have a cab. Darryl at Odds and Ends detailing also has a cab, in addition to a few others. We usually hang out there on occasion and he is a great resource for all things 968

Keep checking, he usually has car events at his location.

I love my 968 for what it is & don't hate it for what it isn't!
