New here from Dolores CO
#1

Hello all!

Thanks for letting me join.  I'm a new 968 owner and hoping to learn a lot from the community.  My 968 is in a trailer right now on the way to Dolores CO and I can't wait to get my hands on it.

My background with cars started with a 60s Fiat sedan but quickly moved to British cars.  Triumph TR6 was my heart throb for many years until I got my 1st Jag.  After 6 Jags it was time to try something new.

An old friend was a Porsche guy so I had plenty of exposure to the free spirited rear of a 911 and 930T.  Which is one reason I chose the 968.

I'll be cleaning the empty spot in my garage today in anticipation of the new arrival.

1993 Red with black interior, Cabriolet, 6 speed with 50k miles.

Ernie

Welcome, that's low mileage! Check out the new members thread for what to do first on the car. There are some things that you will want to do right away for your safety and sanity (belts and alternator to starter wire). After that there are lots of little things that, when managed, make these cars a lot of fun and very reliable. As a former Jag owner (1963 Mk X) I have a problem with cars that are not dependable. The 968 is a great car if you proactively deal with their idiosyncrasies.

Welcome

If you have lots of experience with the crap cars we brits have chucked out for the last 50 years, there will be some challenges with a 968

Over engineering is one problem

Welcome aboard Ernie, you will enjoy your ride once you're confident the necessary maintenance has been carried out. As MCL says, check out the new members section, it's not self publicity it self/968 preservation. Good luck and have fun :-)
