#1

I was watching Wed night news (ABC) and there was a special about the country club for car people. They showed the track(nice) and a walk around showed a couple 968s as well as some guys 1/2 million $ garage. There will be condos clubhouse and alll sorts of stuff available soon. Only 35K to join. In TX as I recall.

A few of these exist around the country. I know there's one near Chicago, and there's talk of building one in the Hill Country between Austin and San Antonio. I also saw an ad in a magazine recently for plans for one somewhere on the East coast, I think.

Yeah there are a couple of them around. Drive and race is in New York. Prairie Hills Motorsport Club is in Indiana. Cloud9...68, I think the one you are talking about is Alpine Motorsports Club. It is located in Pennsylvania. The ad for that one is in the Oct 2007 issue of Panorama, pg. 17.

Yes, that's right - that's where I saw it. Looks like a very cool place.

I once had a dirt-bike track in my back yard to teach my son and his friends to ride Honda 90s. Does that count?

Autobahn is the one in Joliet, just outside of Chicago. Nice facility, big track with North, South, and Combined configurations. They are holding more and more events (we've done PCA DE's there and the Milwaukee Region held a Club Race there).

Much fun, great place, lots of trackside support and local shops that have openned up facilities on-track.

I could have gotten in on the membership side when it was a bargain. Hindsight, huh?

I live about 45 minutes south of Montecello. I would love to join but $100,000 is a bit much <img src="/forum/images/smilies/968/sad.gif" class="smilie" alt="" />

and to be honest - I don't think I would be up there every weekend getting my $'s worth.
