New 968 owner in Fairfield CT
#1

Last week I bought a 1993 coupe with 40k miles. Amazon green. Has m030 sway bars, front strut brace, 18 inch three piece wheels, club sport oem wheel, front lip spoiler in body color and an aftermarket stainless exhaust Was a local concours winner. I have driven it about 350 miles mostly on the highway. It's been great.

Car was checked by an independent porsche shop and had all records. Cam belts have been done. Compression and leak down were perfect. Pinion bearing ok. Variocam ok.

Small leak in power steering line has developed under reservoir.

My first Porsche. Looked at 997 and 993 but this seemed special somehow. I always liked 944's also and they don't seem to be common anymore. So far so good and 911's (especially 996's) are very common by me so it's nice to have something different.

Joined pca and will start going to meetings.

Plan to stay on top of cam belts and change variocam plastic wedges with 928 gts pieces at 60k.

I think (hope) what you mean are Timing and Balance Shaft belts, known weakness and many many $$$ to fix the head if they break.

Please rd up and feel free to ask questions, once you have searched)

Welcome,

Welcome. Glad to see you joined the PCA and are going to the meetings. There are 12 steps but some of use have found that's not enough to cure the addiction <img src="/forum/images/smilies/968/smile.gif" class="smilie" alt="" />

I don't know the brand of wheels yet but I should find out. The original wheels, stereo, sway bars and steering wheel came with the car. Considering putting original wheel back on for airbag but I will probably be lazy and leave the club sport wheel which does feel great.

The interior is perfect also. Car is really mint.

When the site allows me to post pictures to the gallery I have some pics from the previous owners which show everything in detail.
